Gigha Day 2027

25 years ago, on the 15th March 2002, the community of the Isle of Gigha completed the community buy-out of the island. Over the years the island has seen people come and go and has had its ups and downs. The Isle of Gigha Heritage Trust would like to mark the momentous occasion and reflect on the last 25 years.

We are working with the community to determine how we will celebrate the 25th anniversary, starting with an ideas generation session and now we're running a survey to shortlist what should be included. Island residents can take part in the survey using the following link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3N9YBPC. Paper copies of the survey are also available to collect from the IGHT office. All responses must be received by 12 noon on Saturday 14th November.

We will collate all of the responses, communicate the outcome and progress the preferred ways of celebrating. In some cases we may find that we come against barriers that we are unable to overcome, such as high costs, unavailable funding, reliance on external parties, and may need to progress the next best preferred option. We will communicate any barriers and related topics via membership communications and by updating this page - so please check back again in the future.
